China Addendum

If you reside in the People’s Republic of China (for the purpose of this Privacy Policy only, excluding Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan) (“China”), the following paragraphs supplement the master Privacy Policy above and apply to our processing of your personal data. To the extent that there is any conflict or inconsistency between these paragraphs and the master Privacy Policy, the paragraphs shall take precedence:

We process your personal data in accordance with PRC Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”).

Under the PIPL, “legitimate interest” is not an available legal basis. Where we state in the master Privacy Policy above that we rely on our legitimate interest for processing your personal data, we instead rely on your consent as the legal basis under the PIPL.

In addition to the categories of personal data described in Section B, we also process your mobile phone number and social media account for direct marketing purposes.

For the purpose of Section H (data protection for minors), this website is intended for persons who are at least 14 years old. If a minor submits personal data via this website, we will delete this data and not process it further as soon as we become aware of this fact.

Your consent to our processing activities as described in the master Privacy Policy and the paragraphs above also applies to the transmission of your personal data by the local BASF entity – depending on the location of your business – to (i) BASF SE and other BASF group entities that engage the vendor of the Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud systems before or in connection with your visit of this website; and (ii) the BASF companies as indicated in the consent.
